Little Rock, Ark (KTHV): The Central Arkansas Christian girl’s basketball team has had a season for the record books. 35-1 on the year. They’re led by ESPN #1 ranked recruit Christyn Williams. Between her and the efforts of the team they’ve achieved just about everything except the number 1 thing on their list — a state title.

Before every CAC girls’ basketball game you’ll the sounds of a unique song.

“I have to make sure I get my talk over in time so they have time to do that song,” says Head Coach Steve Quattlebaum, “It’s something they’ve started that years ago. Each team adds another verse to it. It’s gotten long now so I’ve got to cut my talks shorter now so they have time to do it.”

You know what else is long? The lady Mustangs list of achievements. From a 35-1 record to being led by a McDonald’s all-American, the team is highly decorated,

But if you ask the Gatorade player of the year, UConn commit and ESPN #1 ranked prospect about her list of goals,

“Friday is the main goal,” she says.

That’s the day they’ll rematch with Riverview in the 4A state championship.

“That would be the last goal on my checklist literally. It’s set up perfect we just have to finish off on Friday,” says Christyn Williams.

Finishing on Friday begins with the team’s motto this year:

“We on go mode. We on go mode. It’s like we are pumped we are excited. Let’s go.”

“I think our team motto is it can be we on go mode. For seniors it’s more personal because this is our last chance our last shot the last chance we get to do this,” says Senior Kelson Miller.

“This is their last shot. All season they’ve talked about it. As we’ve gotten closer and closer you could tell they were serious,” concludes Coach Quattlebaum.
