Much of Iowa picked up some rain on Friday, but it came at a price for some. Hail as large as baseballs fell on West Des Moines and Clive resulting in extensive damage.
Moving forward, conditions should calm down to some extent Friday night with scattered showers and isolated, non-severe thunderstorms. A few more showers will stick around central and eastern Iowa on Saturday, but most of the day should be dry. More clouds than sun will keep highs in the 70s. Rain finally moves out on Sunday, leading to a nice end to the state fair. Highs will be in the low 80s.
Next week will start quiet with sunny mornings and partly cloudy afternoons. Highs will stay put in the low to mid 80s. Thunderstorms may return to the forecast later next week.
Have a great weekend!
