LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Did you ever notice at maybe your own home that you usually enter through the garage door or maybe the side door to your kitchen and not the front door?
Therefore, you don’t even know what you have on your front porch so why not decorate the side entrance to your house?
That is exactly what Chris H. Olsen did at his house. Chris combines all different elements together because as you know that’s what he does.
First of all, he had small pots of different evergreens that used to be inside for his Christmas last year but he couldn’t throw them away so now they are on his side entrance.
He also used wine bottles because why not? They add a little Bling Bling to the garden and before he put them in the recycle bin he keeps the labels on them and as they age he puts them into the recycle bin. He changed them out constantly. He also has other plants there. He potted Hydrangeas and in the Spring they are beautiful.
He has an old chair that he found in the trash of a neighbors house and he even has a large pot there which has the Podocarpus.
Podocarpus looks like a contemporary tropical plant but it’s actually winter hardy in the South.
Therefore, he added a lot of scale to the sides as well. Mix and match whatever you have together. Remember it’s about you whatever door you enter decorate it with living plants or whatever you have around the house.
