Claws for Law hosts fundraiser to benefit Maumelle Police Department's Narcan Program

The event will be from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Park on the River in Maumelle, and will help supply officers with Narcan, an overdose reversal drug.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Narcan: this overdose antidote is a game-changer in the ongoing opioid epidemic.

The overdose reversal drug is very expensive and can be difficult for law enforcement agencies to afford. However, the Claws for Law fundraiser is raising funds to benefit the Maumelle Police Department's Narcan Program.

Claws for Law will be held Thursday, May 24 from 4-9 p.m. at the Park on the River in Maumelle, and will have indoor seating if the weather doesn't cooperate.

They'll have crab, shrimp and crawfish boil plates from K-Hall and Son, and will be accepting donations.

Donations will benefit the Maumelle Police Department's Narcan program, the Central Arkansas Boy's and Girl's club Summer Refreshment Program and Muskie Harris Recovery Services.

This year they'll have two tray sizes: the Little Maumelle, with one pound of food for $25, and the Big Maumelle, with two pounds of food for $40.
