JEFFERSON COUNTY, ARKANSAS, Ark. — The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office has launched a death investigation after a deceased man was found near the Arkansas River on Sunday.
According to reports, deputies were dispatched to an area of the Arkansas River after it was reported that there was a body in the water. They found the body of a man who was later identified as 60-year-old Andrew Hutchinson of Pine Bluff.
According to some of the victim's family members he had been last seen in Jonesboro just under a month ago on February 12, 2024. Police are now asking the public for help in determining his whereabouts from the time he was last seen until his body was discovered near the river.
The victim's body was taken to the Arkansas State Crime Lab to be examined and to determine his cause of death.
