Over 20K Arkansans without power due to severe weather

More than 20,000 Arkansans are currently without power as severe weather moves through the Natural State.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Over 20,491 people are without power as severe weather moved through Arkansas during the overnight hours on Wednesday.

The state is currently experiencing heavy rain and hail. Around 12:30 a.m., an unconfirmed tornado caused extensive damage in Hot Springs, leaving 7,788 people without power in Garland County.

After passing through Hot Springs and Lake Hamilton, the storm moved into Pulaski County, where 9,488 people are currently without power.

The outages are mainly impacting Garland and Pulaski counties. Lonoke County is reporting 1,256 people without power and Saline County reportedly has 645 power outages.
