DALLAS — During Black History Month, AMC Theatres is celebrating Black filmmakers and actors by giving fans a chance to see some recent favorites on the big screen again.

The theater chain will offer a $5 Fan Fave deal in select theaters across the country for films like “The Color Purple” and “The Equalizer."

Beginning Feb. 2, through Feb. 29, a new movie will be offered at participating locations each week.

Here's the schedule:

• Week of Feb. 2–  "The Equalizer"

• Week of Feb. 9 –  "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse"

• Week of Feb. 16 – "The Color Purple"

• Week of Feb. 22 – "SOUL"

The initiative, designed to highlight and celebrate Black filmmakers and actors on the big screen, was inspired by an internal group of employees on AMC’s council on the African American experience.
