'All I Want for Christmas Is You' is back at No. 1 for 5th-straight year

Mariah Carey has ended Brenda Lee's two-week reign on the Billboard Hot 100's highest bough.

LOS ANGELES — Brenda Lee's two-week run at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 has come to an end.

Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" is back at No. 1 on the charts for a 13th week.

Originally released in 1994, "All I Want for Christmas Is You" returns to No. 1 for a fifth-consecutive holiday season after first reaching the top spot in 2019. The song entered Billboard's Hot 100's top 10 for the first time in December 2017.

According to Billboard, with "All I Want for Christmas Is You," Carey has tied Boyz II Men as the only artists with three songs that have topped the Billboard Hot 100 for 13 or more weeks each.

Carey's song replaces Brenda Lee's "Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree" which spent two weeks at No. 1. Lee's track slid this week to No. 2.

Christmas music is ruling the Billboard Hot 100 this week with eight of the top 10 songs.

Lee's "Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree" reached No. 1 for the first time — 65 years after its 1958 release. "Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree" was Lee's third No. 1 song and her first since 1960.

Lee, 78, was 13 years old when she recorded the track. She is oldest woman to top the Hot 100.

"I cannot believe that 'Rockin'' has hit No. 1 65 years after it was released, this is just so special!" Lee said in a press statement. "Thank you to the team at UMG/UMe who worked so hard to celebrate the song’s anniversary this year. But most importantly, thank you to the fans who keep listening."

"The song came out when I was a young teenager and now to know that it has resonated with multiple generations and continues to resonate — it is one of the best gifts I have ever received. Keep on Rockin’ and Merry Christmas!" Lee said.

Last month, Lee released the first-ever music video for "Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree."
