Arkansas sheriffs arrest man on kidnapping charges after high-speed pursuit

The Faulkner County Sheriff's Office says the man led authorities on a high-speed pursuit after failing to comply with an early morning traffic stop.

FAULKNER COUNTY, Ark. — On Friday, the Faulkner County Sheriff's Office arrested a man on multiple charges, including kidnapping.

Sheriffs said they responded to a call around 3:30 a.m. for a possible kidnapping near Lake Bennett Road. When they attempted to perform a traffic stop on the suspect, John Aldridge, he led authorities on a high-speed chase on Acklin Gap Road.

The sheriff's office said Aldridge ran "several traffic light and stop signs" before spike stripes deflated his tires, forcing the man to stop on Highway 285 north of Wooster.

That's when Aldridge attempted to run away from Faulkner County sheriffs, but was caught and taken into custody.

Aldridge is currently charged with two counts of kidnapping/abduction, three counts of aggravated assault, terroristic threatening, and endangering the welfare of a minor, among several others.

The Faulkner County Sheriff's Office said charges are frequently modified during court proceedings.
