Three dead in White County shooting, authorities investigating

Two victims and a suspect are dead after a shooting in White County.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) — Three people are dead after a shooting in White County. Two victims, a male and female, were shot in the Romance area of White County.

The victims have been identified as 45-year-old Starla Exum of Romance and 54-year-old Timmy Dickson of Searcy.

The suspect, 42-year-old Archie Lawhon III of Cabot, was shot by deputies when authorities said he approached them with a handgun in the woods. According to police, deputies shot the suspect after he wouldn't put his gun down despite multiple requests.

Authorities had urged residents to remain inside and report suspicious activity this afternoon as they searched for the suspect.

The Arkansas State Police are assisting the White County Sheriff's Department in the investigation.
