Ark. high school football coach named ALL-USA Coach of the Year

On Tuesday, Pulaski Academy's head high school football coach and athletic director Kevin Kelley was named the ALL-USA Coach of the Year.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – This week, USA TODAY High School Sports is naming the American Family Insurance ALL-USA Coach of the Year, Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year and First Team Offense and Defense for football.

On Tuesday, Pulaski Academy's head high school football coach and athletic director Kevin Kelley was named the ALL-USA Coach of the Year.

Kelley’s overall record is 165-25-1 in his 14 years as the Bruins head coach. His teams have made it to the state semifinals in 12 of those seasons and have won six state titles in eight attempts. He is best known as the first coach to adopt a game strategy free of punting.

An Arkansas native, Kelley graduated from Glenwood High School in Glenwood and from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia.

Kelley was the Offensive Coordinator at Pulaski Academy from 1997 until 2002. In 2003, he became the head football coach and in 2007 added the role of Athletic Director.

He has previously been featured on ESPN, NFL Films, HBO Real Sports and Sports Illustrated.
