Arkansas lands 3 on Freshman All-SEC team

Defensive back Jaylon Braxton, offensive lineman Andrew Chamblee and return specialist Isaiah Staegna earned Freshman All-SEC honors from the league's coaches.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark — Arkansas placed three on the Freshman All-SEC team, the conference announced on Wednesday.

Defensive back Jaylon Braxton, offensive lineman Andrew Chamblee and return specialist Isaiah Staegna all received a nod from the league's coaches after the Razorbacks' 4-8 finish to the 2023 season.

Braxton played in nine games and secured 20 tackles with eight pass breakups, one interception, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. The Frisco, Texas, native scored his first career touchdown in the Hogs' 39-36 overtime victory over Florida. He then secured his first interception in a loss to Auburn the following week.

Braxton's eight pass breakups led all SEC freshmen and were tied for the sixth-most in the league.

On offense, Chamblee is the first Arkansas lineman to earn Freshman All-SEC accolades since Brady Latham earned the honor in 2020.

Chamblee played in all 12 games and registered eight starts after redshirting in 2022. According to Pro Football Focus, he was one of nine Hogs to play more than 400 offensive snaps.

The speedy Sategna made his presence known in the return game all season as the Razorbacks' primary punt and kick returner, finishing with 680 total return yards, the sixth-most in Arkansas history for a single season.

He also returned a punt 88 yards for a touchdown against BYU, the fourth-longest in school history.

Sategna, who led all SEC freshmen in both punt and kick return average, is the first Razorback freshman returner to be named to the Freshman All-SEC team since De'Vion Warren in 2017.

Braxton, Chamblee and Sategna join defensive lineman Landon Jackson, kicker Cam Little and punter Max Fletcher as Razorbacks to earn All-SEC honors.
