Arkansas holds first-ever spouse conference for first responders

The Arkansas Wellness Initiative Network hosted an event where first responders and their spouses learned how to strengthen their relationship.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — First responders and their spouses are learning how to strengthen their relationship and get the help they need.

It's part of a group called the Arkansas Wellness Initiative Network, whose mission is to see those who help others get help themselves as well.

"Being a first responder is tough," said Henry Moore, vice president of the Arkansas Wellness Initiative Network. "Being a first responder's wife is even tougher."

Friday night at the New Life Church in North Little Rock was the first-ever Spouse's Wellness Conference. Speakers talked about struggles they went through as a partner of a first responder and how they overcame obstacles.

Before the speakers presented, the room was full of resources for any help that might be needed.

"If someone needs services, we can tell them to talk to that person or go talk to that organization," Moore said.

There will be another chance for spouses to get information and resources on Saturday. If you would like to attend, click here.
