A Little Rock man was sentenced to over a decade in prison for fleeing from police, and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A Little Rock man has now been sentenced to more than 12 years in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.

According to reports, in June 2019, 36-year-old Andre Pride was driving a motorcycle when police officers attempted to make contact with him. Pride then rammed into the police vehicle and took off in his vehicle. He then rammed another police vehicle and then ran off.

While on the run, he allegedly removed a bag of fentanyl from his pocket and then tried to dump the contents into an unknown person's yard. After he was arrested, officers recovered 30 grams of fentanyl from the yard.

In July 2022, he was indicted on two counts of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, and almost a year later he pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.

Pride was ordered by Chief Judge Baker to spend 151 months in prison with three years of supervised release to follow after his sentence.
