Conway cold case piques FCSO's interest five years later

Larry Billings was murdered in his home in 2012. Now, the Faulkner County Sheriff's Office is renewing their investigation in his case.

CONWAY, Ark. (KTHV) -- Larry Billings was murdered in his Conway home in 2012. His killer has never been found.

Larry Billings’ murder is getting its first fresh look in nearly five years by the Faulkner County Sheriff's Office. With evidence being re-examined and "people of interest" getting attention again.

For years, he was the man behind the Conway Roller Rink, but on October 29th 2012, authorities found him dead, shot in the head, at his home. His 2007 blue Nissan Titan was missing, according to Faulkner County Sheriff Tim Ryals.

"Just kind of starting from scratch, looking at the entire case," Ryals said.

Since being elected in November Faulkner County Sheriff Tim Ryals is making it a priority to look at several cold cases in hopes that renewed interest will result in new clues.

"We have pieces of the puzzle here and there, but we have nothing that connects them all and sometimes it takes that one thing that connects it all together to turn it over to a prosecutor," he said.

It's that type of closure that Larry Billings daughter, Ali Page is longing for.

"He's got grandkids he's never met, he's got grandkids he's seen once. It's just sad all around," Page said.

Page said the family has raised $15 thousand in reward money for the arrest and conviction of Larry Billings' killer.

"There's got to be, there's got to be someone who know what happened," she said.

Cold cases often get colder. But Sheriff Ryals believes this one is staying warm.

"Periodically, it was my understanding in the previous administrations there has been phone calls and certain little things that would come in, little pieces of evidence or maybe somebody's saying something that would lead us in a different direction," Ryals said.
