KJ Jefferson transfers from Arkansas to join UCF Knights

Former Arkansas QB KJ Jefferson announced on Monday that he will be heading to Florida to join the UCF Knights.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Former Arkansas QB KJ Jefferson announced on Monday that he will be heading to Florida to join the UCF Knights.

Jefferson made the announcement on Instagram, sharing a graphic from UCF that states "committed."

The dual-threat QB initially announced his intention to enter the transfer portal back on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023.

Jefferson, who has one year of eligibility left, was a three-year starter for the Hogs and rewrote the program's history book.

"To the fans, I can't express my gratitude enough for all the support I've received from this great state," Jefferson said when announcing his intention to enter the transfer portal.

Jefferson also thanked his coaches, teammates, and the University of Arkansas in the same social media post.

"It has been a dream to be a captain and QB1 at the University of Arkansas," Jefferson said. "Accomplishing those records and being mentioned amongst the great QBs in Razorback history was an honor, but the memories and friendships I've made with my coaches and teammates along the way are what I'll cherish the most."

The talented QB threw for 67 touchdowns and 7,923 yards while completing over 65% of his passes. He's also well respected as a runner, rushing for 1,876 yards and 21 touchdowns in a Hog uniform.

Jefferson will be leaving the SEC as he hopes to help the UCF football team propel to new heights in the upcoming season.

Jefferson is also looking to bounce back from what was a turbulent final season with the Razorbacks, as he threw for a career-low in yards, a career-high in interceptions and saw a drop in his completion percentage.

The Hogs finished last season with a 4-8 record, which landed them 7th in the SEC West. Along the way, the Razorbacks fired offensive coordinator Dan Enos, and many fans also called head coach Sam Pittman's job into question.
