SHERIDAN, Ark. (KTHV) – According to the Sheridan Police Department, a former junior high school coach was arrested on Thursday after a three-month investigation.
Police say that 27-year-old Tyler Pickett was arrested on warrants for first degree sexual assault and sexual indecency with a child.
The investigation began on Sept 15, 2016 as a result of a report from Crimes Against Children. The culmination of the evidence gathered in the case resulted in arrest warrants being served.
Pickett’s LinkedIn profile states that he was the assistant baseball coach at Sheridan Junior High beginning in June 2015. In a statement, the Sheridan School District said that Pickett was placed on administrative leave on September 15 until he resigned on October 26.
He reportedly bonded out of the Grant County Jail on Thursday.
