Jerry Jones gives back to N. Little Rock Police Department

Nearly 200 North Little Rock police officers will be flying out this weekend to see the Dallas Cowboys play.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Nearly 200 North Little Rock police officers will be flying out this weekend to see the Dallas Cowboys play.

There was something about Michael Gibbons, a detective with the North Little Rock Police Department that put Jerry Jones, the owner, president and GM of the Dallas Cowboys in a giving mood. Jones moved to North Little Rock with his family as young man. He was a running back at North Little Rock High School and went on to attend the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.

Gibbons met Jones in the Cowboys Clubhouse through a friend. After speaking with Gibbons, as a token of his appreciation Jones gave the entire North Little Rock Police Department and their families free tickets to any of the next five home games.

And the cherry on top? Jones covered their hotels and travel plans for their trip as well.

“After they found out it was real, the number one question was ‘how do we pay back Jerry Jones for such a great gift?’ The simple response is keep doing what you’re doing. Keep giving back to the citizens of north little rock protect them. Keep being the officers that you are,” said Gibbons.

More than 400 people will be seeing the Cowboys in person over the next few months thanks to Jones' big gift.
