K-POT & Bleu Monkey Grill | New restaurants coming to Central Arkansas food scene

Arkansas’s food scene continues to thrive, with locally owned eateries growing & new franchises moving into the area. Here’s a recap of the latest restaurant news!

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Central Arkansas’s food scene continues to thrive, with locally-owned eateries growing and new franchises moving into the area. Here’s a recap of the latest restaurant news!

One of the biggest restaurant stories in recent days is that of Rosie’s Pot & Kettle. This is a jam-packed breakfast and lunch diner that was started by three waitresses wanting to open a restaurant of their own. Despite opening in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, their concept took flight instantly.

Now, the dynamic trio have moved their establishment into Central Flying Services at the airport. This new space offers an amazing view of planes at the airport. Naturally, kids eat it up, so they’re now open for breakfast service on Saturdays.

If you like Asian cuisine, you’re in for a real treat. K-POT is opening up in North Little Rock at 4317 Warden Road. So what is K-POT? They self-describe their restaurant as a unique, hands-on, all-you-can-eat experience that merges traditional Asian hot pot with Korean BBQ flavor. The franchise has not announced an opening date yet.

Speaking of opening dates, we do expect to see Bleu Monkey Grill’s newest location open any day now. The family-owned restaurant that started its first location in 2010 in Hot Springs announced that the recent winter weather delayed the licensing process and anticipates being open any day now in the old Gusano’s on Rodney Parham.

In other news, Patti Cakes Bakery, the beloved community staple in Conway suffered a tragic fire earlier this month. Owners Patti and David Stobough tell our partners at Arkansas Business they are still waiting to determine what the future holds. This location served as a hub for other restaurant operations, including where the famous Stoby’s cheese dip was made.

It’s Restaurant Week in North Little Rock and we’ve featured so many of Dog Town’s best locally owned eateries. You can always find those episodes here. For information on how you can win prizes by eating at these places, click here
