Entergy Arkansas partners with nonprofits to offer free tax assistance during Super Tax Day

Entergy Arkansas and several other nonprofit partners have teamed up to offer free tax return preparation for qualified customers on February 10.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Now that tax season is in full swing, Entergy Arkansas and several other nonprofit partners have teamed up to offer free tax return preparation for qualified customers as part of the federal Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program.

IRS-certified volunteers will be available to help out those in need during the largest Super Tax Day event in Arkansas on Saturday, February 10. The event is set to begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue until 2:00 p.m at Our House (302 East Roosevelt Road) in Little Rock.

Walk-ins are welcome but appointments are recommended and can be scheduled by clicking here

“Our Super Tax Day events are an important part of our commitment to making a difference in our communities and meeting our customers' needs in ways that improve their everyday lives,” said Brandi Hinkle with Entergy Arkansas Corporate Social Responsibility. “Tax season can be a challenging time of year for many of our customers, and we want to make sure they are able [to] navigate the return process more easily and receive the most money for which they’re eligible.”

Entergy will be partnering with Arkansas Asset Builders and Our House during this event.

Hinkle explained that a $2,000 donation will be made to Our House and additional funding will be provided to Arkansas Asset Builders.

“These two organizations are dedicated to empowering individuals and families in need in becoming more independent, financially stable, and successful in the workforce, school, and our communities," she added.

During the event, customers will be able to receive counseling regarding tax credits and deductions that they could be eligible for, including the federal Earned Income Tax Credit.

To qualify, individuals and families should have a 2023 income of less than $64,000, be a taxpayer with a disability, or be in a household where limited English is spoken.
