Man in custody after armed standoff in North Little Rock, dashcam video released

Police were in a standoff Wednesday with a person inside a car with a gun near the Maumelle Boulevard exit on I-430 but the suspect is now in custody.

UPDATE: Police released dashcam vid eo of the incident on Dec. 28.

ORIGINAL: Police were in a standoff Wednesday with a person inside a car with a gun near the Maumelle Boulevard exit on I-430, but the man is now in custody.

The incident reportedly started in Little Rock and ended at the I-430 exit.

Little Rock Police Department originally said it all stemmed from a kidnapping, but later clarified it was not a "parental kidnapping." Shots were possibly fired at the Walmart on Cantrell Road.

The father, identified as 43-year-old Farris Deloney, then drove to the Maumelle Boulevard exit with his child inside the vehicle.

Farris Deloney faces multiple charges, including kidnapping and aggravated assault on a family.

The child and mother were not harmed during the incident and Deloney was taken into custody.

Crystal Hill Elementary School was on lockdown as a security measure due to the standoff.

Deloney is in the Pulaski County jail on charges of kindnapping, aggravated assault on a family or household member and two counts of first degree endangering the welfare of a minor.
