Saline County Sheriff's Office arrest 15-year-old for homicide that left three dead

The Saline County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide in southern Saline County where multiple people were found dead.

SALINE COUNTY, Ark. — Update: Police have taken a 15-year-old male into custody for his involvement. He is being charged as an adult on charges of capital murder, arson, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with physical evidence.

The Saline County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide in southern Saline County where multiple people were found dead on Saturday afternoon.

According to reports, at around 4:00 p.m. on Feb. 10, first responders received a call of a structure fire. 

When they arrived at the scene off Pryor Drive, they found a deceased person with a gunshot wound. Upon further investigation, they found two more deceased people inside the home who also had apparent gunshot wounds.

Initial reports from the Saline County Sheriff's Office stated that four people were found deceased but they have since confirmed that there were three.

Police say that a person of interest is now in custody but there is no information regarding the motive behind the incident. 

The three deceased individuals have been identified as 47-year-old Jacob Martin Sr., 53-year-old Dara Martin, and 16-year-old Aleah Martin.

The Glen Rose School District shared an announcement on its website, acknowledging the incident and offering condolences.

"Our school and community families are saddened about the recent tragic event," the Glen Rose School District said. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Counselors will be available on Monday."

The investigation into this incident remains ongoing and we will update with more information as soon as it becomes available.
