Severe storms knock out power for over 30K Arkansans

Over 30,000 Arkansans are without power as severe weather moves through the Natural State.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Update: As of 3:20 p.m. on Saturday, just over 10,000 people are without power in Arkansas.

Over 30,000 people are without power as severe weather moved through Arkansas Friday.

The state experienced severe thunderstorms most of the afternoon and into the night. The storms have impacted several areas, including Saline and Jefferson counties, leaving thousands around Arkansas powerless.

The outages mainly affect central Arkansas. Of the 35,006 people without power, 5,232 are in Saline County, 4,713 are in Jefferson County, and 4,342 are in Grant County.
