LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — THV11 announced this week that a familiar face will be joining the station full-time as Morning Meteorologist.  Tracy Beene, who has been with THV11 in a part-time role for many years, will join Karen Fuller and Hayden Balgavy each morning on Wake Up Central.

Tracy, a Maumelle native, has more than 28 years of weather experience beginning in the United States Air Force where she served as meteorologist.  In addition to developing aviation flight paths and base forecasts, she provided weather support for Air Force One. This background has given Tracy a firm foundation in making informed decisions and safeguarding lives in the face of unpredictable weather conditions.

For a number of years, Tracy served as meteorologist in weekend broadcasts on THV11.  Most recently, she has provided fill-in support for THV11’s weather team.

“Each time Tracy appears on THV11, our social media and text forums light up with positive viewer comments.  She’s a trusted meteorologist and a kind person with a deep love for our community,” said General Manager Marty Schack.

Chief Meteorologist Tom Brannon added, “I couldn’t think of a better fit for our morning newscast!” while News Director Shayla Teater said, “We’ve seen Tracy captivate audiences with her energy, relatable stories of motherhood, and weather knowledge for years in her part-time role. It’s time for more Arkansans to meet and grow to love her like so many already do!”

Tracy’s love for weather started at an early age. She recalls sitting on the floor of her grandparents’ living room, captivated by THV11 newscasts.

She said, “It feels like coming home to a place where I’ve always belonged, surrounded by colleagues who have become like family. I’m excited to embark on this new chapter of my journey, bringing together my passion for meteorology and serving our community.”

Married to her sweetheart J.D. for 29 years, Tracy is very family-focused. She says her greatest accomplishment is her children: Taylor, Jakob, Lauren, Addison, and Nora Kate. When she’s not analyzing weather, she said “you’ll find me talking J.D. into my latest home renovation idea.”

Tracy will appear weekdays on THV11’s morning newscast Wake Up Central and THV11’s lifestyle program at 9 a.m. The Vine beginning in early April.
