Another Republican food-fight involving Donald Trump.

Columnist George F. Will, a prominent conservative voice for decades, says he has left the Republican Party because of Trump's impending presidential nomination, saying the New York businessman and party members have abandoned the GOP's commitment to conservatism.

Republicans should "make sure he loses," Will told PJ Media. "Grit their teeth for four years and win the White House."

Trump, who has clashed with Will before, did not take the news well, tweeting Sunday that the columnist is "one of the most overrated political pundits" around.

Will, one of many conservatives who have questioned Trump's qualifications for the presidency, declined to respond to Trump's tweet in detail.

"He has an advantage on me," Will said on Fox News Sunday. "He can say everything he knows about any subject in 140 characters, and I can't."

Will said he changed his voter registration from Republican to “unaffiliated” in his home state of Maryland.
