New survey shows support for Gov. Sarah Sanders dropped by two points

The approval rating for Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders continues to decline since her inauguration but remains popular, according to a new Morning Consult survey.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders' approval rating is down another two points but still remains with a strong support, according to a new survey on U.S. governors by Morning Consult.

The poll was released on Apr. 22 and looks at the popularity of governors across the country. In the first quarter of 2024, support for Sanders dropped from 58% to 56%.

This continues a small trend downward for Sanders since her inauguration as Arkansas's governor, where she received 61% approval rating during the first quarter of 2023.

Disapproval for her has risen by eight points to 35% since she took office. Despite a double digit drop in net approval, Sanders continues to have majority support.

Her strongest support is from Republicans where 81% approve of her work as governor, while 65% of Democrats disapprove. Among independents, 43% disapprove while 41% approve of Sanders.

Polling for the survey comes from a three-month average of "monthly roll-ups derived from Morning Consult's daily U.S. tracking survey."

Sanders is already into her second year as Arkansas's governor where she has promised to continue to looking at ways for more tax cuts and championing her overhaul of the education system with the LEARNS Act.
