Report: Offensive line coach Cody Kennedy leaving Arkansas for Mississippi State

This reported move comes shortly after the Hogs hired Bobby Petrino as their offensive coordinator officially on Wednesday.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas offensive line coach Cody Kennedy will head to SEC West foe Mississippi State next season, according to a report by Football Scoop

Kennedy was at Arkansas for the past three seasons. Mississippi State will be the second SEC school for Kennedy, he was a graduate assistant at Georgia in 2018.

The offensive line in 2023 at Arkansas struggled, allowing 47 sacks which was the worst in the Southeastern Conference and 129th in FBS football.

The run game has drastically declined as well this year. In 2022, Arkansas averaged 236.7 yards per game on the ground. In 2023, the Razorbacks averaged 139 yards per game.

The Arkansas offense as a whole has changed from the beginning of the season. Arkansas fired offensive coordinator Dan Enos midway through the season and the Hogs found his replacement in former Hogs head coach Bobby Petrino on Wednesday.

With the transfer portal opening on December 4, the Hogs have also seen some players announce their departures. Arkansas quarterback KJ Jefferson even posted on his Instagram "I have not made my decision yet".

The portal closes for the fall period on January 2nd.
