Razorbacks fall to Vanderbilt at home

FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas — The Arkansas women’s basketball team (18-11, 6-8 SEC) fell to Vanderbilt (20-8, 7-7), 62-53, on Pack for Mak to honor Makayla Daniels’ Senior Day.

In the second quarter, Arkansas went on a 7-0 run and led 17-14 with 5:22 left in the second quarter. Vandy called a timeout then made back-to-back three pointers to retake the lead. 

Arkansas came within two points with 7:50 left in regulation, but the Commodores closed out the game. 

Samara Spencer led the team with 19 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals. Daniels finished with five points, two assists and one steal.

Saylor Poffenbarger led the team with 12 rebounds. She broke the single-season defensive rebound program record with 276 on the season. 

Arkansas will host No. 1 South Carolina for the last regular-season home game Thursday at 8 p.m. on the SEC Network.
