Thousands left without power following storms in north Arkansas

Thousands of people in north Arkansas have been without power including nearly everyone in the Baxter and Marion counties.

ARKANSAS, USA — Update: As of about 12:35 a.m. on Monday around 68,000 customers in Arkansas are still without power following strong storms moved through the northern part of the state.

Original: Several counties in north Arkansas are experiencing power outages following a round of severe storms in the area.

As many as 113,000 customers are without power along the Arkansas-Missouri border, as of 9:45 a.m.

In Baxter County, at least 80% of people do not currently have power. That equals around 21,000 people without power of the 27,008 customers in the county.

And in Marion County, almost everyone is without power. A total of 10,563 out of 10,577 customers are without power.

Benton County, which is cleaning up following storms that produced possible tornadoes, currently has around 59,000 without power.

In Missouri, nearly 130,000 customers are without power.
