List: Where to find free food, shelter in Benton County after tornado damage

Several organizations and the community as a whole came together to help those who were displaced by tornadoes on May 26.

BENTON COUNTY, ARKANSAS, Ark. — Tornadoes ripped through Benton County in the early morning of Sunday, May 26, leaving extensive damage throughout the area.

Thousands of people have been displaced from their homes being severely damaged. In the meantime, several organizations and the community as a whole have come together to help those who have been displaced.

"I've always thought that anytime you have the opportunity to give to the community you should give to the community, and this is one of those times where Rogers needs help," Bill Adams, owner of GOAT Lab Brewery, said.

Goat Lab Brewery, Bienvenue Restaurant, and The Grove joined forces on May 27 to offer free food to anyone working in downtown Rogers or anyone in need.

"The way I know how to impact is directly to the community with food," William Mauk, owner and chef at Bienvenue, said. "That's kind of what chefs do. They feed people."

Several churches such as Bentonville Community Church, First Baptist Church of Decatur, SOCO Church in Bentonville, and New Life Church extended support to the community with hot meals, electricity, and groceries a day after the storms.

"I've been so encouraged by this community," New Life Church's Pastor Seth Tomboli said. "The way that it's rallied together — all the churches, all the nonprofits, people that have been affected by the tornado are actually serving as well. It's important because without community, we have nothing and so it's been incredible to see the community come together."

Free food and support offered to displaced families:

Rogers High School

The Rogers School District has opened up Rogers High School to the community for food, bedding, and more. They will be open to the public until Friday, June 7. They have been providing free breakfast and lunch during the week from 8 a.m. to noon.
