The Discover Arkansas Team made its way north to Fairfield Bay for this week’s adventure. Fairfield Bay is a popular destination town on Greers Ferry Lake. Many people described it as an outdoor lover’s paradise. We decided to check it our with our new co-host!
The town is the perfect getaway and has everything you need. It is nestled on Greers Ferry lake and surrounded with hills including Sugar Loaf Island.
Sugar Loaf island is the only mountain island in Arkansas. A short boat ride from Fairfield Bay Marina will get you there.
The hike up and down will take a couple of hours. If mountain hiking is not your thing, there are over 30 miles worth of trails to walk! Soak in nature including cool rock formations and waterfalls.
Fairfield Bay Marina is the place to be if you are looking to have fun on the lake. This is where you can stop to get snacks, water, or souvenirs. The marina is where you can catch a shuttle ride to head over to Sugar Loaf Mountain, they drop you off and pick you up after your hike! Renting everything from kayaks, to stand up paddle boards, knee boards, wake boards, or even boats and fishing gear.
This destination stop is an easy getaway for a day or for several days! If you need a break from the lake life, there are 9 other adventure stops including golf courses, foot golf, disc golf and pools.
The Discover Arkansas Team saw people there from all walks of life. This would be a great place for family reunions and getaways.
