Copper Mule carries on Creole kick in new Little Rock location

On this week's Eat It Up, Mackailyn Johnson visits Copper Mule Table & Tap, this time at their new location in the Heights!

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Copper Mule Table & Tap offers a magical combination of Southern comfort food with a dash of Creole flair.

The popularity has extended from its brick-and-mortar location in Bryant and now Arkansans have an even closer location!

Copper Mule opened their second location in the Heights of Little Rock in the summer of 2023.

“A spot became available, so we snatched it up,” Co-owner Jamie Gaston said.

Copper Mule is the brainchild of husband and wife, Rob and Jamie Gaston.

Jamie explained how opening the second location has revealed a loving community.

“The community up here has been super supportive, and the neighbors have been awesome,” she described. “It lets me know that we picked the right spot.”

The biggest draw to Copper Mule has been the menu and atmosphere— and Jamie said while many things are the same, some things have a new flare.

“We replicated a lot of things from Bryant, but I wanted to also make it different,” she explained. “So, we completely redid the bar here. Also, we offer a full wine list here and we do trivia nights on Tuesday night, and live music on Thursday night.”

They also offer a new menu item called the Bayou Baddie, which is a prime rib sandwich.

The couple had no experience in the restaurant industry when they opened their first location. So how could a novice couple open such a successful eatery in the middle of the pandemic?

Well, Rob and Jamie Gaston take a great deal of pride in their work.

Their menu is huge. You’ll find classics such as hamburgers, steak, salads, and perfectly breaded onion rings— but you’ll also find unique twists on southern staples.

The fried green tomatoes topped with spicy crab are fan favorites, and the crawfish cheese dip came highly recommended by other viewers.

One thing that is unique to the Copper Mule is their wide selection of mules. Of the nine different types of mules available, the top seller is the basil strawberry.

The atmosphere at Copper Mule is warm and friendly, covered in well-lit bright colors, and full of southern décor— just walking in the front door is sure to brighten your mood!

Jamie said they wanted to keep that same environment in this new location in Little Rock.

The newest addition to Copper Mule is located at 5705 Kavanaugh Blvd in Little Rock.
