LITTLE ROCK, AR (KTHV) -Wings of Rescue joined forces with several local animal shelters to fly more than 150 shelter animals to new homes in the Northwest.

Record flooding is devastating the state causing an overflow of stray dogs and cats at already overcrowded shelters. The shelter pets are being airlifted to the Pacific Northwest to make room for pets that are being rescued from recent flooding.

These pets were at risk of being euthanized in Arkansas and by transporting them they will have new opportunities of being adopted.

Sending Shelters participating are the Little Rock Animal Shelter, Humane Society of Saline County, Bryant Animal Control, Conway Animal Welfare Unit, and Northeast Arkansas Humane Society.
