Suspect arrested in Hot Springs bank robbery

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (KTHV) - The Hot Springs Police Department made an arrest on Sat., May 26, in connection to a bank robbery the day before.

Shawn Sarver is at the Garland County Detention Center for one count of aggravated robbery.

On Friday, May 25, at approximately 3 p.m., HSPD responded to a robbery at the Bank of the Ozarks on 1410 Albert Pike Road.

When police arrived on the scene, they were informed that a white male entered the bank, approached a teller and handed the teller a note demanding money.

The teller placed an undisclosed amount of money on the counter, and the suspect fled the bank on foot with the money.

Police obtained photographs of the suspect from bank surveillance, and HSPD detectives identified the suspect as Shawn Sarver.

At 3:30 p.m. on May 26, HSPD Officer Ben Riley arrested Sarver without incident at the intersection of Albert Pike and McClard Street.

Sarver's bond is set at $100,000.
