Burn bans in effect in central Arkansas

As spring approaches and temperatures dry out, several Arkansas counties are at high risk for wildfire danger, and some have now placed burn bans in effect.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — As spring approaches and temperatures start drying out in central Arkansas, several counties have already placed burn bans in effect.

According to reports from the Arkansas Forestry Division, 49 counties are currently under a moderate risk of wildfire danger and 26 counties are under a high risk.

Ashley County has issued a burn ban and asked that citizens refrain from burning immediately for the rest of Monday, February 26 due to high winds and dry conditions.
