Ellis' 3-run home run pushes No. 19 Arkansas over No. 7 Georgia

First baseman Bri Ellis hit her 12th home run of the season, helping the Razorbacks snap Georgia's five-game win streak.

ATHENS, Ga. — First baseman Bri Ellis launched a three-run home run, and pitcher Morgan Leinstock tossed a complete game to lift No. 19 Arkansas over No. 7 Georgia 3-2 at Jack Turner Softball Stadium on Saturday.

The Razorbacks (25-8, 4-3 SEC), who snapped the Bulldogs' five-game win streak, scored all their runs on the 11th pitch of the game thanks to Ellis' 12th home run of the season. The junior swung at the first pitch of the at-bat, and it cleared the left-field fence to give Arkansas an early 3-0 lead in the first inning.

Leinstock started in the circle for the Hogs and allowed 2 runs on 5 hits with 6 strikeouts and 3 walks over 7 innings to improve to 7-2 on the season.

Arkansas and Georgia collected 5 hits each. Center fielder Reagan Johnson was the lone Razorback to finish with multiple hits, finishing 3-for-5 at the plate. The only other Hogs to register a hit were Ellis and catcher Kennedy Miller, who both finished 1-for-3.

Georgia (28-5, 5-2 SEC) cut into Arkansas's lead in the bottom of the sixth after a pair of fielding errors scored second baseman Sydney Kuma and pinch runner Haley Eaton.

The Razorbacks return to action on Sunday for the second of a three-game series against the Bulldogs. Coverage from Jack Turner Softball Stadium in Athens, Ga., begins at 11 a.m. on ESPN2.
