Jefferson County sheriffs confirm arrest of murder suspect who escaped from Pine Bluff jail

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says one of the two murder suspects who escaped a Pine Bluff jail on Jan. 20 is back behind bars.

PINE BLUFF, Ark. — Jefferson County authorities announced that one of the two murder suspects who escaped from a Pine Bluff jail is now back in custody.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office confirmed that 22-year-old Noah Roush was found and detained Thursday.

According to authorities, a citizen called 911 just after 4 p.m. and reported a person fitting Roush's description inside an abandoned residence in the area of 19th Avenue and Plum Street in Pine Bluff.

Jefferson County sheriffs went to the area and spotted Roush, which led to a foot chase. Capt. Yohance Brunson, along with Capt. Brad Vilches and Officer Aaron Torres with the Southeast Arkansas College Department of Public Safety detained Roush and transported him to the Dub Brassell Adult Detention Center.

Roush, along with 23-year-old Jatonia Bryant, escaped from the Dub Braswell Adult Detention Center on Jan. 20 as they were being held on probable cause for multiple crimes, including murder.

Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Operations Commander Major Bean said Roush and Bryant exited the facility after "creating a hole in the roof" of the shower area.

Authorities are still searching for Bryant, who is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall and approximately 145 pounds.

Anyone with information related to Bryant's location is asked to contact the Metropolitan Emergency Association at (870) 541-5300, Brunson at (870) 692-3376, or Lt. Terry Wingard at (870) 510-0395.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said a $2,500 reward for information leading to Bryant's arrest is being offered.
