Suspect dies after shooting at two state troopers on I-40 in North Little Rock

According to Arkansas State Police, one person is dead after firing on two officers during a traffic stop on Interstate 40 in North Little Rock.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — One man is dead after firing at two Arkansas State Police troopers and a North Little Rock police officer on Interstate 40 in North Little Rock.

According to authorities, 46-year-old Carlos Rausa of Long Beach, California, fired at the troopers during a traffic stop on Thursday.

ASP said the troopers and the NLRPD officer were not injured in the incident.

Authorities closed the eastbound lanes of I-40 near the Galloway exit (mile marker 161) as investigators responded to the scene.
