The Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts in Hot Springs will be hosting a free event on February 13 to educate people about the total solar eclipse

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. — The Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts in Hot Springs announced on Tuesday that they will be hosting a free event to prepare people for the upcoming total solar eclipse that will be happening on April 8, 2024.

“The Path of Totality: Preparing for the 2024 Eclipse” is a free community event that aims to inform the public about things they should know ahead of the eclipse. It will focus on the science behind why eclipses happen and how you can safely prepare to view the one coming up in April.

The event will be held on February 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the ASMSA Creativity and Innovation Complex at 200 Whittington Avenue. Free parking will also be available next to the building.

Those at the event will be able to build their own pinhole projectors to view the eclipse and they will also receive a free pair of eclipse glasses.
