Dickey-Stephens Park to offer free admission to view total solar eclipse on April 8

The Arkansas Travelers are offering free admission to an exclusive viewing of the rare total solar eclipse at Dickey-Stephens Park on April 8.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark — On April 8, 2024, the Arkansas Travelers will be hosting an exclusive viewing of the rare total solar eclipse at Dickey-Stephens Park.

The stadium gates will open at 11:00 a.m. The total solar eclipse is set to begin at 12:30 p.m. and it will progress to totality at 1:51 p.m. The eclipse is set to last approximately two and a half minutes.

They will be offering free admission and parking near the stadium will be available for purchase. There will also be concessions available for purchase and other fun activities.

Personal telescopes will be allowed into the stadium for the event but any cases and equipment need to be pre-registered and are subject to search. The stadium also has a clear bag policy.

During the games on Saturday, April 6, and Sunday, April 7 they will be giving away special edition Travelers-themed eclipse glasses that are available to the first 1,000 visitors each night. They will also be giving away 1,000 pairs of glasses on the day of the eclipse.

Throughout the weekend fans will be able to check out special solar eclipse-themed merch, concessions, and baseball. The Travelers will be wearing special edition "Total Eclipse of the Park" jerseys during the games on Saturday and Sunday as they face the Springfield Cardinals.

Single-game tickets will be available for purchase at 10:00 a.m. on February 1.
