The countdown to the total solar eclipse has begun! If you're looking for somewhere to experience the solar phenomenon on April 8, 2024 then check out our list below

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The countdown has begun! We're now less than one month away from a total solar eclipse that will be visible right here in the Natural State.

On April 8, 2024, people in more than 10 states across the country, including Arkansas will have the opportunity to experience this once-in-a-lifetime event.

After this eclipse in April, the next total solar eclipse visible from the United States will not happen again until August 23, 2044.

Due to the positioning of Arkansas within the eclipse's path of totality, thousands of people are expected to be in the state to experience the eclipse. Some places in Arkansas will experience up to a little over four minutes of totality during the 2024 total solar eclipse.

As a reminder, safety is always important. Before you head outside to view the eclipse you want to make sure you are prepared and have a pair of solar eclipse glasses that comply with the ISO 12312-2 international standard.
