Camenzind's walk-off powers No. 11 Arkansas over No. 17 Alabama

So long, Crimson Tide! Lauren Camenzind hit a walk-off single into center field to push the Razorbacks over Alabama in nine innings to kick off the weekend series.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas shortstop Lauren Camenzind saw exactly what was coming when she stared down Alabama pitcher Kayla Beaver from the batter's box in the bottom of the ninth inning.

With the game on the line and left fielder Raigan Kramer on second base, Camenzind slapped a ball into center field to give the No. 11 Razorbacks (31-11, 10-6 SEC) a 1-0 walk-off victory against the No. 17 Crimson Tide (30-10, 7-8 SEC) at Bogle Park Friday night.

It was the sophomore's only hit of the game as Arkansas picked up its fourth win in the last five games.

The Razorbacks finished with nine hits as a team, while Alabama recorded four hits in 32 at-bats. Left fielder Nia Carter and second baseman Cylie Halvorson lead Arkansas with two hits each.

Morgan Leinstock was a force in the circle for the Razorbacks, tossing a complete game shutout while allowing four hits with six strikeouts.

Arkansas returns to action on Saturday for game two of its three-game series against Alabama. Coverage from Bogle Park begins at 8 p.m. on ESPN.
